Man dies in crash involving utility pole near Flint

MT. MORRIS TWP, MI – A man died early Tuesday morning after crashing into a utility pole in Mt. Morris Township.
Officers with the Mt. Morris Township Police Department responded around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 to the 4000 block of Clio Road near Home Avenue for a single-vehicle crash.
Mt. Morris Township Police Chief Terence Green said the driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The older-model car hit a utility pole that caused a power outage in the area, but Green said power has since been restored by Consumers Energy.
“We’re trying to determine now what actually occurred,” said Green.
The incident remains under investigation.
Mt. Morris Township firefighters assisted police at the scene with traffic control.
