They are two of Hollywood's ultimate treasures.
So fans will no doubt be extremely tickled to see that Reese Witherspoon was giving a nod to her Big Little Lies co-star Meryl Streep during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday evening.
The Legally Blonde beauty, 43, was spotted filming with the star in Los Angeles last month, during which she was throwing an ice-cream at her on-screen nemesis, 70 - however fans were left disappointed when the scene was cancelled.
Reese was putting on a typically dazzling display as she chatted on the show, shortly before the subject arose of the dramatic scene in Big Little Lies.
While filming last month, the A Wrinkle in Time actress violently threw the delectable dessert while in character as outspoken housewife Madeline Martha Mackenzie.
As ever, Ellen was having a laugh with the talent as she introduced the game in which a series of Meryl masks moved across a board while they threw ice-cream.
The game was called Big Little Scoops and had the audience in peals of laughter.
Meryl joined Big Little Lies as Celeste Wright's (Nicole Kidman) mother-in-law Mary Louise, who comes to town with questions about the death of her son Perry (Alexander Skarsgård).
'It's fantastic. I love having [Kidman and Witherspoon] as my bosses because they understand,' The Post actress told ET last month of the $1M/episode earning executive producers.
'We have lots of big, fabulous, drunken meals together.'
On July 7, James Tupper - who plays Madeline's ex Nathan Carlson - shared an on-set snap of himself with onscreen wife #2 Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) and onscreen daughter Skye (Chloe Coleman).
Elsewhere on Ellen, Reese was joking about being pals with Oprah Winfrey as she claimed the spend a lot of time together.
She said: 'Maybe you're jealous because I've been spending a lot of time together this summer. Yeah! We're like best friends. We've just been hanging out, doing spiritual things and gardening. Our gardens are both clowing up.
The duo joked about Reese sharing 'Super Soul Sundays' with Oprah before claiming she came up with the idea of a podcast for the star.
