Bungoma MP Wamunyinyi's brother murdered following stormy family meeting

A family meeting to arrange a memorial anniversary of a relative of Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi turned tragic after one of the attendees was stabbed to death.
Joseph Wamalwa Wekesa who is the MP's brother was allegedly stabbed by his nephew Nicholas Wafula after they engaged in a bitter verbal exchange on Thursday, November 28.
It was not immediately confirmed what could have led to the disagreement, but police reported the two became physical after which the deceased attacked Wafula with a machete.
Wafula then quickly dashed into his house and returned with a kitchen knife which he used to stab his uncle severally on the chest.
An attempt to save the victim's life proved futile after he was pronounced dead at Bungoma west hospital.
Area OCS George Odongo confirmed the suspect has been admitted to a hospital and will be arraiave been launched
“They were preparing for a memorial anniversary for the Mathew Austin Wafula Wamunyinyi, which was to take place to at Buema Village, Tuuti Sub Location before a fight ensued,” he said.
