Raila’s Wife Ida Odinga Badly Trolls Mariga Over Decision To Vie For Kibra Parliamentary Seat

Mama Ida Odinga, the wife of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga, has castigated soccer icon, McDonald Mariga over his decision to quit football and join politics.
The former Harambee Stars midfielder is keen to succeed the late Ken Koch in the Kibra by-election slated for November 7.
Mariga has been handed the Jubilee ticket but his nomination was invalidated by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after his name missed in the voter’s register.
Speaking on Wednesday in Kisumu, Mama Ida said that Mariga should have stuck to football where he had made a name for himself.
She stated that by joining politics, Mariga had ruined his legacy and urged him to emulate former Kenyan international teammate, Dennis Oliech.
“Have you heard of the name Dennis Oliech? What has he excelled in? Football isn’t it? Think of Mariga, I cannot use that as a good example because, when he changed the profession, you see how he failed,” Ida stated amid giggles.
“If he would have stuck to football he would do much much better.”
However, even Dennis Oliech had hinted at joining politics after sharing a campaign poster of himself in ODM colors that saw his club, Gor Mahia, terminate his contract citing ‘gross misconduct
