Why Arsenal Players Are Not Performing
Dec 3, 2020
The reason for the failure of Arsenal players to perform has been explained to their coach Mikel Arteta by one of the experts of the game.
Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes that the club has a problem and that Arteta needs to do some things to correct the problem.
Arsenal have been in the UEFA Europa League for five seasons now and they are not looking like they will return to the UEFA Champions League anytime soon.
The reason for their problem has been blamed mainly on the stinginess of owner Stan Kroenke, who has refused to allow the club to spend more on quality signing since the days of former coach Arsene Wenger.
When clubs are buying big players for close to 100 million pounds, Arsenal have struggled to get their biggest signing at 75 million pounds.
They operate a tightfisted budget in terms of player signing and rely on the usage of academy talents to compete with top teams who have spent almost a billion pounds on their teams.
They sacked Arsene Wenger and employed Unai Emery but the lack of players to work with frustrated the efforts of the coach and they sacked him.
Mikel Arteta came in and he worked some little magic but now the magic has finished and the lack of quality players coupled with injuries has brought them back to where they were five years ago.
Arsenal in the English Premier League have had their form become hit and miss with the club having won just one of their last five outings, losing three during that period.
