Final score predictions for Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings in Week 14
Dec. 07, 2019
ALLEN PARK -- Things aren’t exactly going swimmingly for the Detroit Lions this season, but the team will look to snap out of their extended rut with a trip to Minnesota. The Vikings (8-4) are double-digit favorites for their second matchup with the Lions (3-8-1) this season.
Check out the video above for a preview of the Lions-Vikings game and score predictions from MLive’s trio on the Lions beat.
Minnesota won the first meeting 42-30 back in Week 7 at Ford Field. Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 337 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions while Dalvin Cook ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns. A lot has changed in Detroit since then as Matthew Stafford has missed four starts with the Lions turning to Jeff Driskel and David Blough under center.
Driskel is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury after making three starts, so it’ll be Blough starting at quarterback moving forward. The undrafted rookie completed 22 of 38 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in his first career start on Thanksgiving. The Lions lost to the Bears 24-20 last week while the Vikings lost to the Seahawks 37-30 on Monday Night Football in Seattle.
The Vikings sit as 12.5-point favorites heading into the weekend as of Friday afternoon. This spread has bounced between 14- and 12.5-points throughout the week. The over/under total is 43.5 points, even though the Vikings dropped 42 points alone against the Lions back in Week 7.
