Justice Grace Ngenye explained on Thursday why she failed to grant embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu access to his office.
In quashing the plea, the judge said that allowing the county boss to access his office would be a mockery to the people of Kiambu and that such a move would be absurd.

"In as much as Waititu remains innocent until proven guilty, it would be a mockery to the people of Kiambu if he is allowed to continue working from his office; absurdity would reign if the court allowed him to go back to the office,” said the judge.
Waititu was ordered to keep away from his office until the corruption lawsuit against him is decided.
He was only allowed one day to go and pick his belongings while accompanied by an officer from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

The county head is alleged to have colluded with other people to embezzle 588 million shillings, a charge that he has strongly rejected.
He claims that the charges levelled against him are politically motivated.

Justice Ngenye also ruled that the Sh15 million bail slapped on the Kiambu Governor was appropriate.Waititu is battling Sh588 million corruption charges together with his wife, Teresiah Ndung'u and eight other county employees.
