Oshiomhole never meant the bad things he said about me - Ize-Iyamu
Jun 28, 2020
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Edo governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has said that party's suspended national chairman Adams Oshiomole never meant the bad things he said about him.
Ize-Iyamu, who was a candidate of the PDP in the last state governorship election, defected to the APC in the heat of a misunderstanding between Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and Oshiomhole.
Back in 2026, the former union leader denounced Ize-Iyamu during an APC rally while campaigning for Obaseki. He described the APC governorship candidate as someone who cannot be trusted with public funds.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu while reacting to Ohiomhole's remarks said the reason the party leader said the horrible things against him was because he was only trying to “demarket” him, The Cable reports.
Ize-Iyamu further said that Oshiomhole was just playing politics as the things the former governor said about him were never from his heart and stopped right after the election.
The APC flagbearer in the governorship election noted that
“He made those statements during the period I was on the other side and was contesting to be the state governor and he (Oshiomhole) was determined to prevent that. What do you expect? Were you expecting him to praise me at that time when he did not want me to be governor?
