We Need Slay Queens And Celebs To Help Create COVID-19 Awareness – Governance expert
Jun 2, 2020
International law and governance expert, Kwame Mfodwo has asked that celebrities be used for awareness creation of the coronavirus pandemic.
While discussing the repercussions of the ease of restrictions on public gathering he said on the Point on View on Citi TV in our bid to sell new ways of behaviour in these times of coronavirus, public figures should be used.
“You need to get somebody who is superb at selling a new product. You are selling a new product which is a mix of masks and all sort of things. It should be done in music, it should be done in cartoons, Agya Koo should be doing his own version. Nana Ama McBrown should not be doing a food show, she should be doing her version of fashion and I’m gonna be funny to say maybe we even need to slay queens doing some of this stuff because you have to reach every segment of the population and sell them a new product,” he said.
He says if Agya Koo does a skit, it will make people laugh but also get educated on the pandemic.
A few months ago, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the government was planning on using some celebrities for this cause because they have a large following and could use their platforms to help educate their followers on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the outbreak of the disease, some entertainment people have suggested that they are engaged to help in the awareness creation.
