The Most Decorated Ghanaian Rapper: Sarkodie

Born Michael Owusu Addo and known professionally as Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur from Tema.
His contributions to the Ghanaian Music Industry and Africa at large has earned him numerous titles, accolades, and brand endorsements.
The Alumni of Tema Methodist Day Senior High School and IPMC, started off as an underground rapper and participated in the then most popular rap competition on radio, Adom FM's Kasahare Level.
The rapper can boast of over 80 awards with over 140 nominations.
In a video released by BET, the rapper was seen alongside Caribbean artiste, Kalash, championing the African agenda. In his freestyle, he themed and preached against modern slavery, he empowered black women, spoke to Pan-Africanism and many others.
Sarkodie advises people to free their minds from the things holding them back from greatness.
Sarkodie won the first-ever BET Best International Flow Award contending with: Nigerian rapper; Falz the Bad Guy, Ghetts from the United Kingdom, Kalash from France, Female rapper; Little Simz from the UK, South African hip pop prodigy; Nasty C, Tory Lanez of Canada.
He doubles as the first Ghanaian to win 2 BET Awards.
Upon winning the award, he further emphasized Pan-Africanism in his speech encouraging all Africans and non-Africans in the diaspora to go back to their roots and participate in Ghana’s #YearOfReturn. “Ghana is the best place to be”- he said
Following the recent BET cypher, people’s Facebook and Twitter timelines have been dominated with love and admiration for him.
