Valencia owner makes stance clear on Cristiano Ronaldo's 'interest' in buying La Liga club
Apr 7, 2025

Cristiano Ronaldo has been rumoured to hold an interest in purchasing Valencia, but club owner Peter Lim has made his feelings clear about his future with the La Liga side

Valencia owner Peter Lim has seemingly shut down speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo could soon buy the La Liga club. Lim has owned a majority stake in Valencia since 2014.
The Singaporean business tycoon has previously been involved in English football through the 50 per cent stake he acquired in Salford City during the same year. In 2024, Lim sold his stake in the League Two club to co-owner Gary Neville, whom he infamously appointed Valencia manager a decade ago.
However, there have been rumours that Ronaldo, one of Neville's former Manchester United team-mates, is interested in purchasing Valencia from Lim. The pair have already had a working relationship as Lim's company Mint Media purchased a portion of Ronaldo's image rights in 2015.
Ronaldo has been linked with purchasing Valencia in recent months, following claims by Spanish radio station Cope Cadena that Lim had told PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi the club was up for sale. The 71-year-old reportedly set the price at £340million (€400m).
The idea of Ronaldo's possible involvement in a takeover was fuelled by Mundo Deportivo columnist Julian Redondo, who stated that the Portuguese striker would be "the next owner of Valencia if they stay in La Liga".
