Top 20 most valuable Southern African footballers ranked, Munetsi, Catamo lead
Apr 6, 2025
Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi and Mozambican winger Geny Catamo have emerged as the most valuable footballers from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, with each player commanding a market value of €15 million, according to the latest figures released by Transfermarkt in April 2025.
The duo tops a star-studded list of 20 elite players from SADC member nations currently making their mark across top European leagues.
Angolan center-back David Carmo and Zambian striker Patson Daka follow closely in joint third place, each valued at €12 million. Carmo, who plies his trade with Olympiacos, and Daka, who has rediscovered form in the Premier League, remain key figures for their national teams.
Reinildo Mandava (Mozambique) and Mbala Nzola (Angola) both sit at €8 million, while Comoros international Zaydou Youssouf and South Africa’s Lyle Foster are each valued at €7 million, rounding out a competitive top 10.
Zambia’s exciting winger Lameck Banda (€6 million) and Angolan youngster Zito Luvumbo (€5.5 million) have also made notable jumps in value, thanks to consistent performances in Italy’s Serie A.
