Save 40% on my favorite budget walking shoe, now under $60 at Backcountry
Mar 15, 2025
I wore these Columbia shoes almost every day for six months, and you'll want to too
I was sent these shoes six months ago and they quickly became my go-to for dog walks over the summer. They're lightweight, well-ventilated and quite soft underfoot for a hybrid shoe that works well both on and off-road.
I also noticed that, beyond an already reasonable retail price of $100, they're often reduced by between 20% and 40%, making them a great choice for people looking for a high-quality shoe at a budget-friendly price.
All these good things earned them a place in my guide to the best walking shoes as the best on a budget.
You can currently get the women's Columbia Konos TRS for 40% off at Backcountry, just in time for those bracing spring walks. There are plenty of sizes available at this discount, but it only applies to the teal/spring yellow colorway
These shoes are comfortable. Usually, when I choose a budget-friendly shoe, I expect to make some sacrifices in areas like cushioning and grip, but this wasn't the case with the Konos TRS.
They are high-quality shoes, on par with offerings from brands like Hoka, New Balance or Brooks, and a great choice if you find your day taking you on and off-road. If you're put off by the price of the Hoka Transport, try the Konos as a cheaper (and more comfortable) alternative hybrid shoe.
