Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins has gone from strength to strength since bursting onto the classical scene more than 20 years ago. It's been quite a journey for the Welsh mezzo soprano since she first impressed with her singing skills, both personally and professionally. She is one of the most popular and respected performers in the world, has a gorgeous family and has amassed a considerable fortune through her talents.

Two years ago, for her Christmas special TV show, the Neath-born star proved how important her homeland was to her and visited Ty Olwen hospice near Swansea for the first time since 1995. It was here, at the age of 15, that Katherine lost her father, Selwyn, to cancer and she returns to pay homage to the care and health workers who spend their Christmas caring for others.

During the past couple of years she's turned her attention to other endeavours away from the recording studio and TV screen, by becoming a gin producer. Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin is distilled in Wales at the Copperworks Distillery located in Swansea. Created by Katherine and her filmmaker husband Andrew Levitas, it is designed to be enjoyed in its purest form as a neat sipping spirit.
