Mar 15, 2025
Saturday night is the best night to close the curtains, dim the lights, and lose yourself in 60 to 90 minutes of perfect stand-up comedy.
This year, streaming services are spoiling us with their stand-up content and Amazon Prime Video’s comedy library contains some of the biggest names ever to make crowds laugh.
Legendary American comics, alternative British names, and new faces on the stand-up scene are all part of the line-up Prime offers its subscribers.
The list boasts some of the best of BBC comedy from the UK, as well as classic stand-up from the 1990s that remains timeless and timely to this day.
We’ve also thrown in some curveballs that some British viewers may not have encountered before – just to give your Saturday night that extra bit of new spice.
Metro has picked out some of the best… just for you.
Snowflake / Tornado – Stewart Lee
Stewart Lee has never been one to shy away from tough topics, and his 2022 stand-up show Snowflake / Tornado is no different.
Across two hour-long sets, combined into a two-hour whole, Stewart tackles the culture wars, starts an Alan Bennett reading corner, and aims several swipes at other comics in the entertainment industry.
Taking on a ‘snowflake’ persona, Stewart makes a case for political correctness and produces a joke ‘written by two people who don’t understand it’.
