Green Brigade blast Celtic board for Rangers Tifo snub as ultras rage at 2 reasons chiefs have given them
Mar 14, 2025

The Celtic ultras group aren't happy with the board, claiming they've had a Tifo refused for Sunday's huge derby

The Green Brigade have slammed the Celtic board claiming they've been blocked from holding a Tifo display at Sunday's derby.
Brendan Rodgers' side welcome Rangers to the east end on March 16 looking to extend their 16-point lead at the top of the Premiership table, but a sold-out ground won't have a traditional Tifo after Parkhead chiefs made the decision to block Green Brigade proposals.
The ultras group, who last month made headlines with a Show Israel the Red Card display, also produced a controversial tribute to convicted IRA killer Brendan 'Bik' McFarlane before a match against Aberdeen. And in a furious statement The Green Brigade said they won't be able to display any Tifos at Sunday's powderkeg clash, which is the first with away fans in attendance since 2023, as they demanded that the Parkhead board rethink the way they work with fans.
It said: "Unfortunately, there will be no traditional tifo in the north curve for Sunday's derby following a refusal by the Celtic board.
"Tifos are now customary for major fixtures and widely accepted to add to the occasion and atmosphere. It is therefore particularly disappointing to lose this when opposition fans will return to the derby in reasonable number for the first time in almost seven years, eager to make their mark.
