Saif Ali Khan’s Tandav Won’t Return For Season 2; Dino Morea Reveals Why The Show Got Cancelled
Mar 13, 2025
Saif Ali Khan’s Tandav was one of the most talked-about political thrillers of 2021, but controversy overshadowed its success.
Saif Ali Khan’s political thriller Tandav, released in 2021, was one of the most talked-about web series of the year. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the show received widespread attention for its gripping political narrative, earning a significant fan base. However, despite its popularity, the series was embroiled in controversy upon its release, with allegations of hurting religious sentiments.
Since then, fans have eagerly awaited news of a second season, but it never materialized. Now, actor Dino Morea, who was part of the show, has finally revealed the real reason behind the cancellation.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Dino Morea was shown a still from Tandav, triggering memories of the project. He reflected on the series, saying, “This was a show we did for Amazon, and it caused a lot of problems. Tandav was based on politics, yes, but it was a fantastic show. The second season wasn’t made because they didn’t get permission. But Saif is always a pleasure to work with, and I had a great time."
Morea’s revelation confirms long-standing speculation that the controversy surrounding Tandav led to its abrupt halt, despite its strong viewership and critical discussions around its themes.
