Nationwide has issued an update over PIN numbers - with accounts locked. The new feature from the building society, which is among the biggest in the world and largest in the UK, will be added to the app soon for anyone who has trouble with their PIN number
A spokesperson for the bank said: "If a customer has forgotten their PIN, they can request a new one via the Internet Bank, over the phone or in branch. The new PIN will be sent to the address registered on their account.
"Later this year our customers will also be able to view their existing PIN via the Mobile Banking App." It said: "If a customer has remembered their PIN, they can use an ATM, including those in our branches, to unlock their PIN by inputting the correct PIN and selecting account services.
"Only the customer can unlock their PIN, so it is not possible to unlock the PIN at the counter." If you have forgotten, log in to the Internet Bank and from the accounts overview page, choose the relevant account.
Choose Other account services in the View accounts menu, from the Account services menu, choose Request a PIN reminder, and enter the last 8 digits of your 16-digit card number. Select Request PIN and Nationwide will then send a PIN reminder to your registered address within 3 to 5 working days.
