Watch Out For This Skin Related Symptoms That May Indicate KIDNEY DISEASE- Number 6 Is Very Important
Mar 12, 2025
The kidneys play a crucial role in filtering waste from the blood, balancing fluids, and regulating essential minerals. When they fail to function properly, various signs can appear throughout the body, including the skin. Skin changes can be an early warning sign of kidney disease, helping in early diagnosis and treatment. Here are six skin- related symptoms that may indicate kidney disease.
Dry And Itchy Skin (Pruritus)
Kidney disease can cause a buildup of toxins in the blood, leading to persistent dryness and itchiness. This symptom is often associated with advanced kidney disease or kidney failure. The skin may become rough, flaky, or irritated, especially in cases of mineral and bone disorders linked to kidney dysfunction.
Changes In Skin Color
People with kidney disease may notice their skin turning a yellowish or grayish hue. This occurs due to the accumulation of waste products that the kidneys can no longer filter effectively. The altered pigment may also be linked to anemia, a common complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Rashes And Redness
Toxin buildup in the blood can lead to inflammatory skin conditions, causing rashes or redness. These rashes may appear as small, itchy bumps or widespread patches of irritated skin. In severe cases, scratching due to itching can result in sores or infections.
