Walsall Council has now set up a 'crime scene' on Northgate Way Road, Aldridge

A 'disgraceful' fly-tipper has dumped a pile of mattresses at an industrial estate in Aldridge.
Walsall Council has now set up a 'crime scene' as an investigation gets under way to find the culprit.
The mattresses were found along Northgate Way Road on Thursday, February 27.
As they were obstructing the road, they were moved to the layby.
The council sent in its fly-tipping taskforce to investigate the area, which was then cordoned off as part of the council’s ‘EnviroCrime’ initiative.
This initiative aims to highlight the council’s zero-tolerance approach to fly-tipping and deter future incidents.
Councillor Kerry Murphy, Walsall's portfolio holder for street pride, said: "This blight on our community is disgraceful.
"We are investigating to bring those responsible to justice, but we need your help.
“The mattresses were dumped in an industrial estate. We are asking neighbouring businesses or residents with CCTV footage or doorbell recordings to come forward.
"Given the large scale of the fly-tipping, we believe that it likely involved a transit van or large commercial vehicle.
“If you have any information or witnessed the fly-tipping, please come forward. Your information could be crucial in prosecuting those responsible.”
