During the speech, the king claimed "there is no more important task than to restore the disrupted harmony of our entire planet".
On Monday's (March 10) instalment of Good Morning Britain, correspondent Nick Dixon discussed the message, saying it came at an "incredibly sensitive time with a backdrop of global tensions".
"Something that the King has referenced, albeit subtly in his Commonwealth message, calling for unity and building bridges and what he describes as these difficult times, emphasising the importance of spirit, support and friendship," Nick continued.
Despite the king's positive message, Good Morning Britain viewers took to social media to voice their complaints.
One wrote: "Need to sort out our domestic issues first: Economy, Crime, NHS, Education, Immigration. Until you do this you won't get much harmony in the UK."
A second fumed: "Out of touch with the country, the country needs restoring , he reminds of mad king George III."
