Now 12 seasons deep, American Horror Story has become something of a television institution. The horror anthology series co-created by Ryan Murphy, American Horror Story has delivered scares, horror, and stunning twists since Murder House debuted back in 2011. Since then, the series has taken on everything from witches to cults to 1980s slashers to even the literal apocalypse and so much more. It’s a franchise with something for pretty much everyone and one that has its devoted fans.

But while the series has its following, there are some seasons that are regarded more highly than others. After all, with 12 seasons out and a 13th on the way, there are bound to be some that are better than others. Ranking the previous seasons of American Horror Story is something that we’ve done before, but it’s been a few years — and a few seasons — since we’ve done so. This time around, we’re specifically going to look at how the seasons fared with critics by looking at their Rotten Tomatoes scores and comparing that to audience response as well. and we’re adding Delicate to the list.
