WWE icon paralysed in freak accident gets out of wheelchair as he receives huge honour
Mar 7, 2025

Wrestling legend Lex Luger has spent most of the last 15 years in a wheelchair after medical issues, but was seen standing in an emotional video announcing his induction to the WWE Hall of Fame

Wheelchair-bound WWE legend Lex Luger can be seen standing up in an emotional video as he's told he is to be inducted in the 2025 Hall of Fame.
The two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, 66, rises from his wheelchair to hug current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who had surprised him with the news.
It comes after we reported Lex – paralysed since suffering a spinal stroke in 2007 – may one day be able to walk again thanks to a unique version of yoga taught by fellow grappling legend Diamond Dallas Page.
In the video, shared by WWE, Lex is seen being put through his paces by DDP before Cody knocks on the door and announces he is there on a 'surprise visit'.
He then tells a beaming Lex: "On behalf of WWE, we would like you to be part of the 2025 class of the WWE Hall of Fame."
DDP then tells Lex: "You've got to stand up and give him a hug for that, brother."
The Hall of Fame ceremony, held annually before the company's flagship Wrestlemania event, honours some of the sport's biggest names.
Lex was one of the most popular stars of the 90s and wrestled more than 2,100 matches in a career spanning three decades.
