All GTA 5 Enhanced Edition Differences: Is It Worth Buying Again?
Mar 7, 2025
Grand Theft Auto 5's PC players have been saddled with a subpar version of the game, at least when compared to their console counterparts. Fortunately, the PC version, which has long since been behind in comparison to the next-gen console versions, has finally been updated, making it the definitive experience. Rockstar has re-released GTA 5 on PC as the Grand Theft Auto 5: Enhanced Edition, which comes with numerous upgrades that the console versions have enjoyed for some time, as well as a handful of PC-specific ones that those on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S don't get to experience.
However, after the heavily criticized next-gen GTA 5 remaster, people are wondering whether the PC edition is even worth the money. Rockstar has been re-releasing Grand Theft Auto 5 for a long time now, almost as much as Skyrim, so it is understandable that players have reservations when it comes to the brand-new "Enhanced Edition" and the supposed changes that it brings. Fortunately, despite a fairly mixed reception, it looks like PC players have at least a little to look forward to.

GTA 5 Enhanced Editions' Changes & Differences

Adds New Content, Ray Tracing, And More

Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced Edition on PC is ostensibly the same as the next-gen GTA 5 remaster that was released back in 2022. It comes with all of the improvements that it has, both visually and mechanically, so fans who are stuck on PC or haven't been able to try out the next-gen console versions aren't missing out on anything. This means that the PC version now has improved visuals - including multiple graphical modes - and support for AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS. It also has much faster loading times, DualSense controller support, improved audio, and ray-traced shadows and reflections.
