The weather dials up, and so does our general happiness level. But spring/summer 2025 menswear trends allow our clothes to get a bit fizzy and silly too.
Luckily, the industry gives us plenty of notice for our annual wardrobe re-up. There’s the big four: New York, London, Milan, and Paris, and increasingly, the influence of Copenhagen, Seoul, Tokyo, and Shanghai has been pretty hard to ignore. This season, short shorts aren’t going anywhere, there’s been a big push on plaid across the board, gladiator sandals have entered the arena, menswear is in sport mode, and the slime green is sliming.
So you’re not scrambling around on that first weirdly warm day in March, GQ’s style team has scoured the spring/summer 2025 collections to leave you primed and ready for the season ahead.
Short shorts hold strong
Menswear is still in its slut era, but the short short has diversified. No longer is thigh-skimming legwear reduced to sporty silhouettes and sweat-wicking materials. At Gucci they were loose, deep brown and tailored – the kind of skimpy short you might get away with at dinner. Things were skintight and steamy at Bianca Saunders, and they were boxy and suede at Japanese label Auralee.
