Mar 4, 2025

The St. Patrick's Day parade takes place on Sunday, 16 March and returns to the city centre for the first time since the pandemic

Last month it was confirmed that the annual St. Patrick's Day parade would return to the city centre for the first time in over four years. Celebrating the 35th anniversary since its inaugural running, it will take place on Sunday, 16 March.
Now, a couple of weeks before it's due to take place, organisers have confirmed the route in will take. The parade showcases over 30 spectacular floats and walking groups displaying colourful Irish dancers and marching bands.
This year, St Patrick's Day falls on Monday, 17 March, with lots of events going on across Greater Manchester to celebrate the occasion. The parade is always at the heart of the celebrations but there will also be an 11-day Irish festival.
Bringing a vibrant display of Irish culture and heritage, the much-anticipated parade will see thousands gather to celebrate Irish pride with a spectacular 2.5-mile procession from the Irish World Heritage Centre to Deansgate.
Organisers have confirmed that before the midday start, participants will assemble on Queen’s Road, Cheetham Hill, outside the Irish World Heritage Centre.
From there, the parade will embark on its journey. Turning left onto Cheetham Hill Road, passing St. Chad’s Church and heading towards AO Arena, it will then turn right onto Trinity Way, followed by a left onto Great Ducie Street, taking the procession behind the arena.
