The actor is best known for his role as the vigilante superhero Daredevil in the Netflix series of the same name. When the series got canceled in 2018, Cox reconsidered doing more roles because of his family. “Would I like to do other work? Absolutely,” he told the Independent. “But I also have a wife and a daughter. So, when I’m not working, it’s so lovely to have that time with my family, to take that time off.”

Charlie Cox met his future wife Samantha Thomas on the set of Daredevil Season One. Samantha is a TV producer who was Executive Vice President of Bron TV. The two got married in 2014 and have two children together, a son born in 2020 and a daughter born in 2016. They live in Connecticut. When Vincent D’Onofrio was persistent that Daredevil’s cancelation was only temporary, he would joke about it with his wife. “He’d always say, ‘Oh, they’ll bring us back,” he told GQ UK. “And I used to say to my wife, ‘He’s delusional. He’s got to move on.’”
