IRISH star Shane Lowry had a special reason to celebrate off the course as his daughter, Iris, marked her 8th birthday.

The Offaly man’s wife, Wendy Lowry, took to Instagram to share a series of adorable snaps in tribute to their little girl.

Posting a touching throwback photo of herself walking hand in hand with a much-younger Iris.

Wendy wrote: "Hard to believe Iris is 8 today."

The proud mum also shared another sweet memory, this time of Iris in a pink dress, running towards her on a picturesque beach. "My little sidekick"

Finally, Wendy posted a stunning image of the birthday girl lying on the sand, flashing a beaming smile.

The simple yet heartfelt message read: "Happy birthday Iris."

That's while Shane has been busy on the PGA Tour, finishing T11 at the Cognizant Classic over the weekend.

But couldn't forge a final round push as Joe Highsmith claimed his maiden PGA Tour title at the age of 24.

It remains to be seen whether Shane will mark the special occasion with a win on the course this week as the tour heads to Bay Hill for the API Signature tournament.

Earlier last week the family were able to throw a hibachi-themed birthday party for their eldest daughter Iris, but her actually birthday was is March 3 as Wendy posted on Insta.
