Part of a motorway in East Yorkshire was closed on Wednesday afternoon following a "serious collision", National Highways said.

Both carriageways of the M62 between junction 37 at Howden and junction 38 at North Cave have been shut.

Humberside Police said surrounding slip roads were also closed.

The force warned of delays and asked drivers to avoid the area.
