TINUBU Betrayed Abiola, Begged ABACHA For Post😲? SEE What Bode George Revealed About Nigeria's President
Feb 24, 2025
A prominent figure in Nigeria' s political landscape, Bode George, has reignited discussions surrounding the annulment of the 1993 presidential election. Speaking as a former Deputy National Chairman of the People' s Democratic Party (PDP), George alleged that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a key political player, sought a commissioner position within Lagos State under the late military ruler, General Sani Abacha, following the controversial cancellation of the election results.
This revelation was made in response to comments by Kola Abiola, son of Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, who was widely regarded as the winner of the June 12, 1993, election. Kola had accused Tinubu of joining the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), an alliance advocating for the recognition of his father' s electoral victory, only after his efforts to secure a role under Abacha were unsuccessful.

George corroborated Kola' s claims, stating, " It is true that Tinubu approached Gen. Abacha seeking a commissioner position. This happened at the Villa, with Gen. Oladipo Diya as a witness. Tinubu expressed interest in becoming a deputy to a military administrator. When these attempts failed, he transitioned into activism. "
The former military administrator emphasized the authenticity of Kola' s narrative, acknowledging its emotional depth and historical significance. He noted that Kola' s statements stemmed from a desire to honor his father' s legacy, which was overshadowed by personal losses, including the death of his mother and the decline of family businesses during the struggle for democracy.
