God of War, one of Sony's most successful IPs, follows Kratos, a Spartan who becomes the Greek God of War and then later destroys their pantheon. Kratos’ story begins with a quest for vengeance against the Olympians who killed his wife and daughter.

As the series was rebooted in 2018, his quest would later take him to the lands of the Norse Gods, where he’d face off against the likes of Odin and Thor, and the next installment may take him toward Egypt. The original God of War titles are just as beloved as the new entries, despite having aged quite a bit since they were first released. That's why fans are so excited to hear the rumors that the classic GoW games might be getting a remaster as they near the franchise's 20th anniversary.

Kratos, the Spartan Demi-God son of Zeus, is one of gaming's most compelling characters. The often solemn brute encompasses an aura of power and strength with nothing more than a stare. In the reboot of the series, beginning with 2018’s God of War, the stoic giant of fury and vegeance was portrayed by Christopher Judge (Stargate SG-1) who took over the role from Terrence C. Carson.
