Phil Collins has revealed he is “very sick” and has no desire to make new music.
The Grammy winner, 74, retired from performing in 2022 amid devastating complications from a spine injury that left him with mobility issues.
The legendary Genesis frontman has now explained in a rare interview that he’s not “hungry” to record any more music.
“I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens but I'm not hungry for it anymore,” he told MOJO magazine.
“The thing is. I've been sick, I mean very sick.”
Peter Gabriel, who was the lead singer of Genesis from 1967 to 1975, also talked to the magazine about Collins’ health during the band’s final show in London in March 2022.

“Phil wasn’t in as great a shape as he used to be, but they did a great job,” he said.
Discussing his attendance in the audience, he added: “Me going was a rite of passage, really. I’d been part of the creation of Genesis, so I wanted to be there at the end.”
Collins - who is the father of Emily In Paris star Lily Collins - suffered a spinal injury in 2007 that damaged the vertebrae in his upper neck.
The heartbreaking injury left him with nerve damage and limited mobility, which has impacted his ability to play the drums.
