Elderly man, 86, 'seriously injured' in Warrington crash

An 86-year-old driver is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Croft, Warrington. The inicdent happened shortly before 7.15am on Wednesday, February 19, near to the junction of Southworth Lane and Delph Lane.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and video footage to help them in their investigation into the crash. Police say the collision involved a silver Peugeot 2008 and a blue Ford Fiesta.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "The driver of the Peugeot, an 86-year-old local man, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. He was taken to the Royal Salford Hospital where he remains at this time.
"The driver of the Fiesta, a 60-year-old man from Widnes, was also injured during the incident, he was taken to Warrington District General Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing.
"Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation."
