Veteran Nollywood actor and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has officially announced his resignation from the Labour Party (LP). The former spokesperson for the party' s presidential candidate took to his Instagram page to share a lengthy statement detailing his decision to leave the party. Recall that Kenneth Okonkwo was one of the super supporters of Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

According to Kenneth, his resignation will take effect from November 25, 2025. In his post, Okonkwo explained the reasons behind his departure, highlighting key concerns about the party' s direction and leadership. Below is part of the statement he shared.

" 11th February, 2025 To all Nigerians of Goodwill, RESIGNATION FROM LABOUR PARTY I thank, most sincerely, all Nigerians of goodwill for the immense support given to us during the 2023 presidential election in which Nigerians believed our message for a new Nigeria and voted for us across ethnic and religious lines. "

" We were the only party that had 25% foothold in all six Geo- Political Zones and the Federal Capital Territory. I believe that we won the election under the Labour Party with your support but were denied the victory through technical glitch. "
