I visited the 'best Asian supermarket in Chinatown' and there’s one thing I’ll keep going back for

SeeWoo is thought to be the 'original' Asian supermarket in Chinatown

The ‘best’ Asian supermarket in Chinatown is a worthy title to hold. SeeWoo is the “original” and “some argue the best” Asian supermarket in the area, according to the Chinatown website.
Open since 1975, this store is credited with being instrumental in introducing Chinese ingredients to London. It's home to a "cornucopia" of Asian food products including fruit, tea and seafood.
And as a lover of Asian food, snacks, treats and drinks, I thought what better task than trying the 'best of the best'. To get to SeeWoo, you have to walk underneath the red lanterns that adorn the streets of Chinatown.
The entrance to London's Chinese Quarter is marked by a beautiful ornate archway. Decorated in orange and gold paint, upon entering the arches you feel as if you were a long way away from Soho.
However, when I reach SeeWoo I’m a little underwhelmed. I’m not sure what I expected of the ‘best’ Asian supermarket in Chinatown but this modest store wasn’t quite it.
But its still all to play for as looks can be deceiving. I task myself with buying lunch here, as well as any other little bits I like the look of.
After a little while of scanning the shelves, I decided to go for a classic ramen. This one is kimchi flavoured (£2.50) and to add an extra kick I pick up a jar of crispy chillies in oil (£3.54).
