Early Life And Education
Ransome- Kuti' s father, Likoye Kuti, was a traditionalist, while his mother, Anne Ekidan Efupiye, was an early convert to Christianity. Influenced by his mother' s faith, young Josiah was baptized at four and began attending the Church Missionary Society (CMS) in Abeokuta at nine. He later studied at CMS Training Institute in Lagos, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
Music And Ministry
Ransome- Kuti' s musical talents blossomed as an organist and composer. His captivating songs attracted many to Christianity, earning him the revered title of " Singing Minister. " In 1922, he traveled to London for the Church Missionary Society Exhibition, where he composed, sang, and recorded 43 songs, showcasing his artistic prowess.
