Celebrated Kenyan actor Isaboke Nyakundi has expressed his joy in getting nominated for the second edition of the TUKO Awards.

The actor, talking about the awards, lauded TUKO News for celebrating artists and stated that other media houses should do the same.

Nyakundi noted that for the longest time the attention has been placed on politicians and not artists.

“May the best man win. You are all doing the Lord’s work. For the longest time, the attention has been going to the politicians. Attention goes to them and its tailor made that way because when it goes away from them, they have to work harder to get the attention back and win elections. So i feel like the fact that you guys post artists and make sure their art is seen out here, more media houses need to help celebrate artists. Keep on doing the Lord’s work," he said.

The creator said that his aim in the entertainment industry was to entertain, educate, and help transform lives.

He said that every sector in the country has a duty to play, and his duty as an actor is to provide distractions.

“Other than making a living, there is also the idea of everybody needs a distraction from something. It can’t be life always. You need to be entertained. Entertainment is not farfetched. Through what we do we can educate, inform and also transform lives. That's also a plus for us. We all have a part to play in making sure society functions.”
