Aliko Dangote is a prominent Nigerian businessman and industrialist. He is best known as the founder, chairman, and CEO of the Dangote Group, the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Dangote’s net worth was estimated at $15.3 billion as of May 2024, making him the richest person in Africa, the world’s wealthiest black person, and the 132nd richest person globally.
Aliko Dangote GCON was born on April 10, 1957 in Kano, Nigeria. He was raised in a wealthy family by his parents, Mohammed Dangote and Hajia Mariya Sanusi Dantata. Dangote has a brother named Sani Dangote, who sadly passed away in 2021.
In 1978, Dangote graduated from the Government College, Birnin Kudu. He then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in business studies and administration from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. Dangote’s ethnicity is Hausa, and he practises the Islamic faith.

Mohammed Dangote was born in the early 1930s in Kano, Nigeria. He was raised by his parents, though their names are unknown to the media. It’s possible he grew up with siblings, but their names are also unknown. Dangote’s ethnic background is Hausa, and he practised Islam as his religion.
