One Year Old Ghanian Boy Is World Youngest Artist
May 25, 2024
A one-year-old boy from Ghana has become the world’s youngest artist.
At just one year and 152 days old, Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s youngest male artist.
His artistic journey began when his mother, Chantelle, a fellow artist herself, noticed Ace-Liam’s fascination with paint at only six months old.
To keep him entertained while she worked, she laid down a canvas and dropped some paint on it.
What happened next was a masterpiece in the making! Little Ace-Liam explored the paint, spreading it across the canvas in what became his first creation, aptly titled “The Crawl.”
“While learning to crawl, I spread out a piece of unstretched canvas on the floor and dropped some paint on it as a way to keep him busy while I worked on a commission painting,” she explained.
This sparked a passion within Ace-Liam, and his artistic endeavours soon garnered national and international media attention. Even the First Lady of Ghana took notice of his talent.
With over 20 paintings under his belt, Ace-Liam participated in his first group exhibition, showcasing his work alongside established artists.
The reception was phenomenal – nine out of ten of his displayed pieces were sold!
Ace-Liam’s love for art goes beyond recognition and sales. He enjoys the tactile experience of paint, the vibrancy of colours, and the freedom of self-expression that painting offers.
