In December 2005, a sunny day turned dark for many families in Nigeria. It was a day that started like any other, but it would be remembered as one of the saddest days in the country' s aviation history. This is the story of the Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 crash, a tragic event that shook the nation to its core.

Sosoliso Airlines was a familiar name to many Nigerians, it was one of the airlines that connected people across the country, flying them to different cities for various reasons to visit family, go on vacation, or conduct businesses. On December 10, 2005, Flight 1145 was scheduled to fly from Abuja, the capital city, to Port Harcourt in the southern part of Nigeria.

The flight was carrying mostly schoolchildren, many of whom were excited to return home for the holidays, they chatted and laughed, looking forward to reuniting with their families after being away at school. Little did they know that their journey would end in tragedy, as the plane approached Port Harcourt International Airport, something went terribly wrong.

The weather was not ideal, with rain and poor visibility making it challenging for the pilots to see clearly, despite their best efforts, the aircraft failed to land safely on the runway. Instead, it crashed into the ground, breaking into pieces upon impact, the aircraft with 110 people on board, slammed into the ground and burst into flames.
