Ajax Amsterdam's 1 - 0 loss to Liverpool means it's all to fight for on the last day as they welcome Atalanta to the Amsterdam Arena. Liverpool sealed their place in the last 16 after Curtis Jones lone goal gave them a win over Ajax Amsterdam.

Liverpool's 1 - 0 win at Anfield ended Ajax run of 17 away games without a win. The last time was in 2014 against PSG where they lost 3 - 1. Although they didn't appear in the Champions League till 2018. However since 2018, Ajax Amsterdam has had an unbeaten run of 17 games.

The 17 matches played between are:
(2018/2019)
Bayern Munich 1: 1 Ajax Amsterdam
Benfica 1: 1 Ajax Amsterdam
APOEL 0: 2 Ajax Amsterdam
Real Madrid 1: 4 Ajax Amsterdam
Juventus 1: 2 Ajax Amsterdam
Tottenham Hotspur 0: 1 Ajax Amsterdam
(2019/2020)
Valencia 0: 3 Ajax Amsterdam
Chelsea 4: 4 Ajax Amsterdam
Lille 0: 2 Ajax
(2020/2021)
Atalanta 2: 2 Ajax Amsterdam
Midtjylland 1: 2 Ajax Amsterdam

It is also notable that Ajax scored at least a goal in each match in that 17 - match unbeaten run. Erik Ten Haag's influence in the team has seen a quick rise and development.
Also, his trust in raw talents including Frenkie De Jong, De Ligt, Andre Onana, Hakim Ziyech, Donny Van De Beek and a touch of experience like Dusan Tadic, Daley Blind and Huntelaar led them to their memorable semi - final run in 2019. However, they were not able to replicate the form as they got knocked out in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and the Round - of - 32 of the Europa League.

Ajax will now turn their sights to a must - win encounter with Atalanta. The previous encounter at Bergamo, Italy ended in a 2 - 2 draw where Atalanta came from 2 goals down to draw the match 2 - 2. Atalanta's 1 - 1 draw with Midtjylland means Ajax are only behind by a point. Anything less than a win for Ajax will see the Dutch club go to the Europa League for a second year running.
