The granddaughter of the 90- Year -old of woman who was lynched for allegedly being a witch has finally broken silence days after the incident.
According to the 25-year-old identified as Latifah Bumaye, who was seen in the viral video whipping her grandmother, she was possessed and did not know she was torturing her grandmother.
Latifah said prior to the tragic event, some men caught her forcefully and smeared a powdery substance on her face and that must have influenced her actions.
 Laying hands on the video after the incident, Latifah recalled asking those around where she got the different dress from as she was in a completely different attire before the incident.
 Some few days ago,  Latifah was captured in the video whipping the old lady she said was her grandmother, in a broad day amidst chanting and cheering from onlookers after Akua Denteh was disgraced for being a witch by a supposed witchdoctor, Filin.
The witch doctor was also captured on camera hitting the deceased repeatedly with something covered in a cloth.
 But after news of the incident surfaced online, Latifah and the witch doctor were on the run till she was grabbed on Thursday July 30 by men from Salaga Divisional Police.
“On 30/07/2020 information was received, by C/Supt. Amos Yelisong, the Divisional Commander, Salaga indicating the hidden place of one of the suspected Principal murderers in the deceased Akua Denteh case,”
“The information was processed into intelligence and two Man Police team from the Salaga Division despatched by the Divisional 
Commander and the District Officer to Kejewu Bator, a fishing community under Abrumase Police Station within the Salaga Division” police report said
Police say she will soon be arraigned before court.
