England World Cup winner and Leeds United legend Jack Charlton has died at the age of 85.
Leeds United confirmed the news that their former centre back has died on Friday following a long-term illness.

With a club record of 773 appearances, Charlton featured for Leeds for over 23 years becoming on the all-time great central defenders in the game.
He made 35 appearances for England and featured in all of England’s 1966 World Cup matches going on to win the final against West Germany 4-2 at Wembley.
Charlton wad not just only successful as a player but also as a manager leading Ireland to two World Cups and an European Championship during his 10 years in charge.
Jack Charlton joined Leed in 1950 at the age of 15 as part of their ground staff before later signing a professional contract with them and was handed a debut in a 1-1 draw against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday April 25, 1953 at the Elland Road.
Jack has been involved in the club’s success story to date, first helping win promotion from the Second Division twice as runner-ups in 1955/56 and champions in 1963/64.
He also won the League Cup in 1968, the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1968 and 1971, the First Division in 1968/69, the Charity Shield in 1969 and the FA Cup in 1972.
He won his first England cap against Scotland on April 10, 1965, and was part of Sir Alf Ramsay’s England World Cup squad in 1966.
