When asked if the Polish Episcopate has the will and determination to deal with the problems of paedophilia and the s3xual abuse of minors in the Polish Roman-Catholic church, the bishop answered: “there is, but in my opinion, it is not enough.”
Bishop Milewski said; “As with millions of Catholics in Poland, I am sick and tired of this situation. I feel ashamed and would not like to be in a Church where there are crimes, priests who should not be priests and I believe something has to be changed”
“The paedophiles should be punished more severely,”
He also said that another problem is allowing homosexuals to become priests. “We should finally forbid entry to the priesthood for people with homos3exual tendencies,” he said.
“I would like to apologise for the silence of Polish bishops. What happened in Kalisz diocese [western Poland] was an example of ‘lavender mafia’ deeds in the Church,” Bishop Mirosław Milewski, an auxiliary bishop of Płock diocese (central Poland) told the private radio station RMF FM.
