Liverpool Receive Injury Boost Ahead Of Bournemouth Game
March. 06, 2020
Liverpool have been handed a major injury boost with midfielder Naby Keita likely to play against Bournemouth over the weekend after returning to first-team training.
Keita suffered a hip injury that saw him miss clashes against Watford and Chelsea with both matches ending in defeats.
The 25-year-old's injury left Jurgen Klopp short of options in the midfield with Jordan Henderson, who has been a key player sidelined with a thigh problem he suffered in Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
"A little, little, little bit but enough with his hip. I can’t really say more, that’s the only information I got from the medical department," said Klopp when asked about the severity of Keita's injury earlier in the week.
"He is not ready [to play Chelsea] but could be ready [to face Bournemouth] after that game, but for that game not. ‘It’s not serious but obviously serious enough."
The Reds will miss the services of Henderson who remains unavailable over the weekend as well Xherdan Shaqiri (calf), Yasser Larouci (thigh) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee).
