UK will invest $ 1.6 million in the world’s fastest weather computer

The Meteorological Service of United Kingdom will invest 1.6 million dollars in the acquisition of the climate supercomputer most powerful and fastest in the world.
As reported, this computer will deliver more timely and accurate forecasts because the computer will create a atmospheric digital twin a with data like wind speeds, temperatures and air pressures.
The supercomputer too help mitigate the effects of climate change and will support the transition to a low carbon economy throughout the United Kingdom.
The first stage of operation of the equipment will take effect in 2022 and will be six times more capable that the current computer named Cray XC40 and by 2027 an update will be made that will increase performance three times , which will do it 20 times more effective than the computer in use .
