Paris Saint-Germain to scout Tottenham outcast Danny Rose during Newcastle loan – reports
Feb. 09, 2020
Paris Saint-Germain are set to scout Danny Rose during his loan spell with Newcastle, according to reports.
The Tottenham left-back joined the Magpies on a temporary deal until the end of the season last month .
Rose made just five appearances for Spurs under Jose Mourinho, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino as boss in November .
The Sun claim PSG are hot on the trail of the England international, whose Tottenham contract expires next year.
The Ligue 1 champions are likely to be on the lookout for a left-back in the summer with Layvin Kurzawa’s future in doubt.
Kurzawa has fallen behind Juan Bernat in the pecking order and is reportedly being tracked by Arsenal and Juventus.
Rose, who made his Newcastle debut in a goalless draw with Norwich as a substitute last weekend, feels he was not given enough first-team chances under Mourinho.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live : “I do feel I wasn’t given as much of a chance as everybody else in the backline.
“I did want to play for him.
“I knew after a month [of Mourinho joining] I was never going to play. It was difficult going out to train knowing I wasn’t going to play.
Ray Parlour says Jack Grealish is a 'complete midfielder' and would be a perfect signing for Man United
“It’s not worked out, but full respect to him and what he’s doing at the club. He took over with the club 12 points adrift of Chelsea [in fourth place] and now it’s four.
“I have to be honest, I thought I would continue playing.”
Rose has made 214 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Leeds in 2007.
