Police officer hurt when someone crashed into patrol car on closed road

A police officer was left injured after a driver crashed into a patrol car which was blocking a closed road.
South Wales Police received a report that a car had crashed into a lamppost on the A48 in the Pentwyn area of Cardiff at around 6.10pm.
Officers arrived at the scene and used cones to temporarily close the road.
A man driving a van is then said by police to have crashed into a stationary police car.
The police officer involved in the incident suffered minor injuries, while the bumper of the BMW patrol car was left hanging off, following the incident on Monday, November 25.

South Wales Police's roads policing unit issued a warning to drivers following the incident as they tweeted: "Always pay attention to what you can see ahead.
"When we say the road is closed, it's for a reason.
"Luckily only minor injuries for the officer involved."
South Wales Police could not confirm if any action had been taken against the driver.
