iPhone XR, iPhone 8 Get a Respectable Price Cut Following iPhone 11 Launch

Sept. 10, 2019

Apple has finally revealed the iPhone 11, as well as the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. With the new A13 Bionic chipset geared to deliver better performance coupled with an upgraded camera system, these might be the handsets for a lot of customers. Granted, the iPhone 11 is relatively affordable for an Apple-branded phone at a starting price of $699, but it might still be out of reach for some consumers. The good news is that with the arrival of new handsets, both the iPhone XR and iPhone 8 have received a price cut. So, if you fancy yourself an iPhone, these are definitely worth a look.
Apple Has Also Discounted the Larger iPhone 8 Plus for Customers That Want a Slightly Bigger Display
As Tim Cook revealed during the keynote today, iPhone XR was the top-selling smartphone in the first half of the year. It sports a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD display and is fueled by the A12 Bionic chip. The 64GB variant of the phone now costs $599 while the 128GB model will set you back by $649. If you want a phone that’s even more affordable, there is the iPhone 8 range.
This one is underpinned by the A11 Bionic chip and according to some reports, it still remains a customer favorite, despite being two years old now. The iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch display and the entry-level 64GB variant costs $449 while the 128GB model carries a $499 price tag. If you want a bigger display, you can go for the iPhone 8 Plus that has a 5.5-inch screen. For 64GB of storage, you will have to cough up $549, and the 128GB version retails for $599.
If you want to have these phones for an even lower price, you can always use the trade-in option, provided you have an eligible device in a decent condition. As we mentioned before, despite being older, both iPhone XR and iPhone 8 are pretty solid devices and with the new prices, they will provide more bang for your buck.
After the price cut, which device do you think you’ll be picking as your daily driver? The iPhone XR, the iPhone 8, or the iPhone 8 Plus? Tell us your thoughts down in the comments.
