Fire crews are currently tackling a large blaze in a block of flats in Plymouth.
The top floor flat of a building on Savage Road in Barne Barton is reported to be on fire.
Smoke can be seen billowing out of the building and seven fire engines are at the scene. Police are also at the scene.
Residents in Whitleigh have been able to see the smoke.
Residents nearby said they heard 'a few bangs' before the fire started.
The fire service has confirmed they received a call to a fire in bedroom in a block of flats at 16.41pm.
One crew from Camels Head, one crew from Crownhill, two crews from Greenbank, one crew from Saltash, one crew from Plympton and the aerial ladder platform from Crownhill attended.
On arrival the crews confirmed that there were smoke and flames issuing from the property. They got to work using four breathing apparatus, two jets, one hose reel and positive pressure ventilation fans. First aid was also rendered to a male suffering a suspected asthma attack.

In September last year police have launched an investigation following a major fire at a block of flats on the same road.
Police officers, fire fighters and paramedics were called just before 11am on September 5 after a fire broke out in a ground floor flat in the six-storey building in Savage Road .
Five residents were rescued from the building by firefighters and treated by paramedics.
